Kia ora. Today we have used Meet to create a post about blogging.
We all chose a blog post from the Manaiakalani mailout Term 2. With a partner we discussed the posts and recorded it. Then learnt how to post on our blog via the HTML.
The importance of Embedding rather than inserting a video is so that the video/audio can be changed later if needed without having to revisit the blog.
This has been another very informative day. Here are some points of interest:
* Kerry focussed on Learn/Ako with the acronym RATE, Recognise, Amplify, Turbocharge and Effective Practice in the digital world of our learners. What does this look like at our school?
* Learn allows individual schools to focus on addressing achievement challenges within their diverse communities.
* When screen sharing use Chrome tab when sharing video/audio
* Google Keep can be shared with other emails, share lists, use reminder to add location, take photo and grab image text, use audio for taking notes
* Gmail - schedule send, change settings to apply filters, use labels, use signature, access calendar and keep on side.
* Google Calendar - invite others, check their calendar. Create an event, add meet, invite and add attachment. Duplicate events.
* Taming your tabs - every tab uses processing power. Consolidate tabs using one-tab.com, Workona, Toby Mini ... Pin tabs to minimise. New tab, begin to type, click on switch.
* Ctrl A to copy embed code, Ctrl V to paste.
Once again I have learned many useful skills and I plan to put them into action with the idea of working smarter, not harder. I am looking forward to seeing our colleagues, tamariki and whanau next week as we move into Week 6. This is a link that I found on the Learn/Ako page that I found interesting as we think about the our well-being and that of our tamariki. Social and Emotional Learning Ka kite ano.
